Censorship is still a considerable problem all across the world. The effects are evident in many communist countries as the majority of the population is unaware of many problems in their society. One example is in China when an activist posted a message on a Chinese social network and was immediately arrested. The government immediately blocked all information and posts about his arrest so that when news reporters from America interviewed regular Chinese citizens taken right off the street, they knew nothing about the activist who had been arrested.
